Aspiring to do better for our learners every day is a core focus of our work. Aspirations have a significant influence on both educational attainment and future life outcomes. We embody aspiration by modelling the behaviour we encourage in our learners – to move beyond current circumstances and focus on where we’d like to be.
Courage helps us effect change. We embody courage by thinking creatively and being brave, being innovative, not giving up and standing up for what’s important.
Growth encompasses all types of learning including personal development, system improvement and organisational progress, focusing on the process of learning not on the results. We embody growth by laying foundations for our learners to improve, learn new skills and believe in their potential.
Respect has many layers including respect for yourself, others, and the environment (such as how we relate to ourselves, one another, and our surroundings). We embody respect in our schools, Child and Family Learning Centres, libraries and community spaces through our belief in every individual’s worth and positive sense of identity, potential to interact with others, working together in respectful ways and developing respectful community connections.
Forth Primary School is situated in the picturesque surrounds of the Forth Valley. The history of the school is richly intertwined with the history of the local area. The school has strong community links which date back to its establishment. The original Forth State School opened in 1867 and was situated on Mackillop Hill. The school transferred to its present site in 1937 and consisted of two classrooms with 50 students in each room.
Our 150th Year (Sesquicentenary) celebrations were held in 2017, reconnecting our school with past pupils and our community.
Forth Primary School underwent a major redevelopment in 2001 with additional new buildings completed at the end of 2006 and in 2010 a unique Performing Arts Centre (PAC) was completed. A new purpose-built Kindergarten was established in 2019.
The school’s expert teaching team maintain a strong focus on improving student learning outcomes, offering comprehensive coverage of the Australian Curriculum through the classroom program, single subject lessons, and specialised learning opportunities.
The school boasts a very proud history and family atmosphere, upholding tradition like the daily ringing of the school bell in the bell tower.
Forth Primary School has an active school community. We welcome involvement of all interested families in our School Association Committee and various subcommittees, and we provide regular opportunities for families to attend assemblies and showcases of learning.
The annual Forth Primary School Fair is renowned for its significant success, which illustrates perfectly how our school and community work in partnership to enrich the schooling experience for our students.
Funds raised have contributed substantially to provide playground equipment, innovative programs, alternate learning opportunities and the purchase of resources to support the classroom programs.
The Forth Primary School community welcomes you to our school!
